Getting to Know Antonio Jesús, Legal Mentor at La Lonja de la Innovación

Today we introduce you to one of our new mentors, Antonio Jesús Toscano Díaz. And what a better way to get to know him than through an interview. Stay here and discover who our mentor is!

Antonio Jesús is a lawyer specialized in Corporate Law, Family Business, M&A, Commercial Contracts, Insolvency Law, corporate conflict, Commercial Procedural Law, and Inheritance Law. He is also Secretary and Vice-Secretary of several Boards of Directors of companies from various business sectors.

Antonio Jesús's relationship with entrepreneurship

For Antonio Jesús, "entrepreneurship is a way to transform ideas into impact". He also tells us that he feels fortunate to have been able to advise many technology-based startups from their first steps, learning with them how to "turn challenges into opportunities".

After his years of experience with entrepreneurship, he has observed what he considers to be the most important values for entrepreneurship: "resilience to keep going, curiosity to learn, and honesty to build something with a sense of utility", since without these values, ideas cannot be sustained, no matter how good they are.

Furthermore, he wanted to give advice to all entrepreneurs: "Don't wait until everything is perfect to start. Just launch, make mistakes, learn quickly, and surround yourself with people who motivate you to improve, even if they don't share your vision. Entrepreneurship is moving forward, even with doubts".

The role of La Lonja de la Innovación

When asked about the role of La Lonja de la Innovación, he tells us that he sees it as a great "meeting point where real solutions for global challenges are born from Huelva". He also believes it’s important to foster innovation by building bridges between young people, companies, and knowledge centers to boost innovation and entrepreneurship in the province of Huelva. As well as committing to "practical training, collaborative spaces, and making local projects with global impact visible". In this regard, he confirms that La Lonja de la Innovación performs a great job "connecting talent, technology, and territory to transform the productive fabric of Huelva, serving as an engine for sustainable ideas".

It’s for all this that he encourages every entrepreneur who is thinking of presenting their project to La Lonja de la Innovación to take the opportunity to join "an environment that listens and supports" and which can be the "place from where to show their idea to the world".

Finally, our mentor did not want to say goodbye without first leaving some recommendations that he assures can inspire any entrepreneur: the series Abstract: The Art of Design; the film Chef, a story about reinventing oneself, following one's passion, and building something of one's own from scratch; and the book The Element by Ken Robinson, which talks about finding the point where talent and passion meet.
