La Lonja de la Innovaci\u00f3n of the Puerto de Huelva and Telef\u00f3nica has awarded today the solutions \"Projected Road Signage in Solid Bulk Cargo Operation Zones\" and \"Implementation of a Real-Time Dock Occupancy Tracking System\u201d presented by Carlos Corrales and Alfonso Fern\u00e1ndez, respectively. These were recognized as the most innovative proposals presented to the contest for employees of the Puerto de Huelva, aimed at improving port operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The president of the Puerto de Huelva, Alberto Santana, has congratulated the two winners and to all the employees of the Puerto de Huelva that have participated in this call from La Lonja de la Innovaci\u00f3n. After the significant support received, with 17 proposals, of which 11 were preselected. In this regard, Santana has said that \u201cit is essential for the Puerto de Huelva that its employees feel part of its growth and aim to contribute to it through their efforts by presenting these innovative projects\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This initiative consisted of launching a competition a few weeks ago for the employees of the Autoridad Portuaria de Huelva with the objective of promoting the generation of innovative ideas that improve the port operations, by providing new services or improving the existing ones, both for end users and for the workers themselves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Moreover, it was sought to foster the knowledge of the port activity and the employees talent, generate a bank of innovative ideas, promote the creation and development of new activities or work lines, support the transformation of ideas into opportunities and identify the real needs of the port\u2019s daily operations, collecting projects of interest for the community of the Autoridad Portuaria de Huelva, that can lead to future open innovation challenges or selection processes for new entities to be incorporated into La Lonja de la Innovaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among the solutions presented, were proposals for measuring the occupancy of surfaces by cargo in public docks for solid bulk cargo, road signage projected in solid bulk cargo operation zones, a digital information service and road or lightning signage within the Service Docks of the Puerto de Huelva or the implementation of drones and SpiderCam to measure bulk cargo piles in docks, improving port precision and efficiency, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Over the course of weeks, employees submitted their proposals and later defended them in front of a selection committee. After the review, several prizes were awarded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This proposal is part of La Lonja de la Innovaci\u00f3n\u2019s objectives to bring innovation through startups, established companies and the port itself to upgrade and boost the Puerto de Huelva and the region through their developments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
