Rocío has a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Huelva. She furthered her education with a Master's Degree in Control Engineering and Electronic Systems with which she completed her TFG on "Commissioning of a hydrogen cell system". He also has another Master in Industrial Maintenance Engineering, both at the same University.
He has developed his professional activity in project planning within the industrial sector, performing cost control, people management and data analysis in corporations such as Enagás, Impala Terminals, Tioxide or Matsa. Focusing on the continuous improvement of processes and the search for new technological solutions that help to optimize operations.
In February 2022, he took a professional turn by assuming the management of La Lonja de la Innovación, the first accelerator that bets on FIWARE technology in the logistics-port vertical worldwide. In this initiative of the Port Authority of Huelva, its main mission is to develop the port innovation ecosystem, a program to attract talent and provide piloting opportunities in the Port of Huelva.
The Director of La Lonja de la Innovación is focused on open innovation and identifying the best technological solutions that solve the challenges of the port community.
About her relationship with the sea, besides being part of an initiative so connected to this environment, she says that she loves spending time on the beach, with its sunsets, and enjoying the peace that the sea gives.
For Rocío, La Lonja is a commitment to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the city. To empower and give local entrepreneurs the opportunity to find a space where they can test their inventiveness, their knowledge and their ability to turn an idea into a project and from project to solution.
At the same time helping companies to design and develop innovative products in the port environment and can generate synergies and knowledge transfer, boosting talent and improving the competitiveness of companies and making a more competitive port and improve the productive fabric of the city.
