The Port Authority of Huelva and La Lonja de la Innovación have awarded the challenge, launched a few weeks ago, for the development of a system for the detection and pixelation of faces to prevent their identification, to the company Magal Solutions.
The company will work on and solve this challenge at La Lonja's facilities, in the Port of Huelva, supported by the initiative's professionals.
The objectives of La Lonja de la Innovación are to provide innovation, both through startups and consolidated companies, to update and boost the Port of Huelva and the region with their developments.
The Port Authority of Huelva (APH) manages security and control of activity in the port area. To do this, it has a video surveillance system that controls all its facilities. However, the LOPD prevents images from being recorded in open spaces, given that personal information of any citizen circulating through them may be recorded.
This poses a detriment to the security of the APH, as it prevents the control of a wide service area. In this sense, it is necessary to seek a system that detects people's faces and pixellates them, preventing their identification.
The objective of this challenge is the installation of a pilot program in the port environment, its integration with the APH systems, and the monitoring and verification of the system with the AEPD so that it can be extended to the rest of the open facilities controlled by the APH.
