Yesterday was inaugurated in the Port of Huelva with the president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, the space of more than 2000m2 where La Lonja de la Innovación has its headquarters, and which houses the first port innovation node FIWARE worldwide.
In this way, the starting signal is given to this initiative where we seek to revolutionize the port innovation sector, looking for technological solutions that add value to the ecosystem of the Port of Huelva, the region and the community. We are the first port FIWARE center and therefore we have before us the challenge and the opportunity to be a reference for many.
The event began with words from Pilar Miranda, president of the Autoridad Portuaria of Huelva, who highlighted "the milestone that La Lonja de la Innovación is marking by being the first port FIWARE worldwide", becoming a business incubator and innovation ecosystem with business acceleration initiatives. Undoubtedly, a real opportunity for Huelva and its economy.
The space was inaugurated with the intervention of the president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, who launched a motivating and flattering words to the initiative. The president highlighted the commendable work of all the agents involved in La Lonja, valuing the ambition, work, collaboration and attitude, and putting the focus on the importance of working side by side with companies and citizens.
Juanma Moreno stressed that La Lonja de La Innovación is an "example of the ability to innovate, to go to the forefront of technology and intelligent diversification". Moreover, this initiative will undoubtedly add value to the region at all levels, as the president remarked "La Lonja de la Innovación will bring enormous added value to Huelva and Andalusia, quality employment, and will stimulate technology-based and innovative entrepreneurship, which is what makes the difference, attracting more talent, more companies and more investment".
The event was also attended by Juan José Hierro, technology director of FIWARE Foundation, who highlighted the importance of the "implementation of the FIWARE node in the port sector and in the Port of Huelva, achieving democratization, generating opportunities and removing barriers to entrepreneurs and their innovative ideas".
For his part, the director of Telefónica's Southern Territory, Joaquín Segovia, highlighted the public-private collaboration that has made La Lonja de la Innovación possible, as well as the "commitment of the Port of Huelva to promote the intelligent management and digitalization of the port sector".
After the opening ceremony, the president of the Junta de Andalucía was able to visit the facilities and the showroom of different technological solutions installed in them.
Currently, La Lonja de la Innovación is about to start the acceleration of the 7 startups selected in the Innovation Ecosystem program.
The selected companies are Neobotik, Blubik, Bla Bla Fishing, AllRead, Seaport Solutions, Tsm Maritime Solutions and Nebulous Systems, and for eight months, extendable to another four, they will boost their maturation through Telefónica's acceleration methodology in La Lonja de la Innovación.
